Meeting our clients

The day started early in the morning with great excitement, as we were going to meet our clients for the first time.

Boddhi Tree prepared a nice breakfast for all of us in the terrace and the first clients started to arrive. I could see a lot of politeness in our short introductions. After we exchange cards where all of us were aware and careful to follow the Cambodian traditions. Do not give a card with your left hand as it is consider the dirty one but do it either with both or your right. And also don’t get the card of someone and put it in the pocket at the back of your jeans as it is consider as disrespectful.

The official meeting started and after a short introduction of CSC by the IBM representative in Vietnam and a short speech of the only IBM representative in Cambodia it came the time to introduce ourselves. It was great to have the opportunity to talk with our clients about our expectations and the great opportunity that we are having been here. I was the first and I tried to be short and concise. I remembered I commented how jealous my colleagues will be because of the nice weather in Cambodia and the snow in Budapest and introduce a little bit myself.

For me it was great to meet Aplus School for professionals Chairman Mr. Bora and the General Manager Mr. Mengsong. Mr. Bora was recording the event with his iPad which as you can imagine made a good impression having in mind my work in Budapest :D. He introduce himself and told us how he manage to start several companies after his studies. His story coming from a poor family from the rural area made us understand in the first place what we were going to do.

Aplus is a practical training institution that organizes professional development events to stimulate Cambodians to be quality human resources, entrepreneurs, and focuses on business for economic development and poverty reduction in the country it exists.

The training programs are designed and delivered by high level experienced Senior Managers, CEOs, Entrepreneurs and the presentations are focus in the local context combining international best practices.

We are going to work in exchanging our experiences in sales and management with Mengsong during the following month with great expectations as he is a fast learner.
